As one hit wonders DJ EZ Rock and Rob Base who claim to rock the microphone taught us all in 1988: “It takes two to make a thing go right.” True dat DJ EZ Rock and Rob Base. True dat. This is especially true at a wedding – yet most weddingy things are geared to the brides. The poor grooms are left to fend for themselves.
Never fear my dear grooms, Vance – one of our trailblazing grooms who recently tied the knot at lovely Costa Verde in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica – introduced us to the perfect antidote. A website they call The Art of Manliness (cue some handsome Don Draper type gent tipping his chapeau). With articles like How to Carve a Turkey and 9 Ways to Start a Fire Without Any Matches – you know we’re talking manly. So if you should ever find yourself moments from marrying the love of your life and at a complete loss as to how to fold a pocket square – the manly men at The Art of Manliness have a handy dandy How To video to get you George Clooney ready and avoid a naked suit.
Vance and Jenn are fellow Canucks! So they automatically get awarded 100 awesome points. (Shhh…don’t tell “A Brit” I said that). As a wedding gift to her groom-to-be Jenn gave Vance a pair of super hero cufflinks. Yes I know, Jenn gets 200 more awesome points for that.
Their wonderful Costa Rica destination wedding was made even more lovely by having the ceremony at Costa Verde in Manuel Antonio overlooking what I can only really describe as paradise. Then off to the beach next to Costa Rica’s largest National Park for some photos.
Silvia from Costa Rica Paradise Weddings helped to create an amazing day for our Canadian lovebirds.
For some truly jaw-dropping entertainment Jenn & Vance brought in belly dancers to wow their guests. Move over Shakira – these ladies rocked it.
We also got the chance to shoot a sweet engagement shoot for Vance’s sister Carling the next day in Manuel Antonio. And we will be shooting her wedding in Ontario this September too – how fun!
