NOTRE DAME BASILICA & LE WINDSOR WEDDING IN MONTREAL OOH LA LA
As some of you may know – I grew up in Montreal. Oui, oui mes amies. Yes it is the land of hockey & poutine. But Montreal is also super chic and has such a rich heritage and incredible architecture. Most notably of course in Old Montreal – which acted as the backdrop for Maya & Ross’s wedding ceremony and portraits. Magnifique!
The wedding ceremony itself took place at the Notre Dame Basilica – an unbelievably stunning place for your I do’s. A gothic inspired church that was built in the 1600’s. It also happened to be the spot where world famous Montrealer Celine Dion said her I do’s in 1994. It was an amazing spot to shoot – no shortage of inspiration that’s for sure.
Following the ceremony we took Maya & Ross around Old Montreal for their photos – I think we could have kept shooting all day and night – so many fun lil nooks & crannies and alleyways and passages leading to more awesome at every turn. But alas they did need to make it back to join their guests for the big reception bash at Le Windsor.
And what a party it was! Incorporating Maya’s Lebanese & Ross’s Algerian backgrounds – the traditions and festivities were such fun – every one of their guests was dancing up a storm. They also had a bellydancer put on a spectacular show during the reception.
Montreal je t’aime!
