CASA LOS OLIVOS PLAYA LANGOSTA WEDDING WONDERMENT

Wowsers – it has been a very, very, very long time since we had a chance to put up a blog post. We have been extremely busy bees since January capturing some really epic and amazing destination weddings in Costa Rica. We have so many fun ones to share – so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more sunny Costa Rica weddings. And also for many radtastic Canadian weddings now that our summer season has kicked into full gear.

Brittany and Bill currently live in NYC and met a couple of years ago while in a line up for a shindig in the Hamptons. Pretty incredible. They chose to say their I do’s in beautiful Playa Langosta, Costa Rica – since Bill’s brother owns a fantastic beachfront villa – Casa Los Olivos– and how can you not want your ceremony in such an idyllic spot. With around 40 of their nearest and dearest, the ceremony took place on the beach and then cocktails and reception and dancing fun steps away back at the villa.

The couple got primped and prepped at the nearby boutique hotel, Cala Luna, and we did their first look amongst the lovely green hedges between the villas. Maruja of Lat 10 Weddings & Events helped Brittany and Bill with wedding planning and decor/rentals were courtesy of Eventos Artensanos – who did a top notch job of bringing the couple’s vision to life. Pure beachy bohemian laid back perfection.

That night was also perhaps the most unbelievable sunset ever. And we have seen our share of sunsets over the years living in Costa Rica – that I do sorta consider myself a bit of sunset snob. This one however blew me away. It is wild to think that we were all there to witness its sheer sunsetty awesomeness thanks to a line up in the Hamptons a couple of years ago. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Mad props Hampton line up – hats off to you, you did good. Very good.

COSTA RICA WEDDING AT CALA LUNA WITH A LOT OF HEART

Written by Jessica - Posted November 30th - Photographs by A Brit & A Blonde

My goodness where do I even start to describe Jennifer & Jean-Pierre’s amazing wedding in Costa Rica at Cala Luna. These two lovebirds live in one of the coolest cities Austin, Texas. And their destination wedding in Playa Langosta was filled to the brim with love, laugher, tears of joy and awesomeness, lots and lots of awesomeness.

Jennifer works in PR and Jean-Pierre is an architect – so it was no surprise that his ring was designed by world renowned architect Frank Gehry for Tiffany. We heart that since Mr. Gehry is also a fellow Canadian from Toronto. And his ring design was just as cool as his buildings.

The always rad Costa Rica wedding planners/designers at Four Winds Weddings created a beautiful beach ceremony and reception. Not to mention that they literally made from scratch that uber fun “Love” sign with lights you see in the images above. Talk about full service wedding planning. It was such a great touch and really embodied what Jennifer & Jean-Pierre’s big day was all about. You can literally see the love beaming out of the two of them from their first look to their I do’s on the beach to their first dance.

The dance party that ensued was complete with hijinx, singing their faces off to “Blurred Lines”  & even an impromptu guest doing “the worm”. Listen who says 35 guests can’t rock a reception.
