find are tacky pics, tacky links, tacky this and
tacky that. No tacky photos taken by
tacky photographers of brides sitting in
front of tacky fountains. Yep, this blog is

The Andaz Peninsula Papagayo resort in beautiful Costa Rica is stunning – there is no doubt. They have thought of everything, including providing each guest with fun lil’ flip flops and a vacation hat. Who doesn’t heart a good vacation hat. The grounds are wonderful whether you want to hang by the pool, chill by the beach or sip margaritas at the bar with their very own mixologists. Now if you decide to get married and invite all your best people to this marvellous spot – then my friend, it is next level fab.

Kierre & Brian live in DC and they have some friends and family that really know how to throw down and have a party. The dance party that ensued post reception was non-stop. The ties came off and may or may not have become head gear to keep the sweat at bay for many of the guys and the bridesmaids hiked up their dresses and tied them in a knot to move like Jagger. Music by DJ Mason Dunn was truly top notch.

Barbara Broutin of FourNineteen Weddings once again did a superbly magnificent job of the decor. Everything came together like a Pinterest pipe dream. FourNineteen’s destination wedding planning is hands down first rate. The florals by Artflower were the perfect accent to the Papagayo backdrop.

In spite of the rain – the plan B option of having the ceremony take place in the stunning architecturally sublime lobby was kinda the best. What a space for your I do’s. LOVE. I wish all venues plan B options were this spectacular.

Andaz Papagayo has a super cute purple VW camper van – which I spotted when we were doing the location scout. I asked if it could please, please, please with the cheeriest of cherries on top be around during the wedding and ideally parked in this exact spot. The staff gave me the thumbs up and then they went above and beyond and decorated it too. Again the best!

I think it is pretty clear that I am gushing about the Andaz Papagayo – it was our first wedding at the resort and cannot wait to be back again soon. Until then, I’ll wear my vacation hat and dream of it.

This wedding was chic. Like celebrity wedding levels of modern uber chic. Payal & Hafiz had both a Hindu and then an Ismaili ceremony to celebrate both their backgrounds. Magnificently marvellous doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Their wedding took place at The Royal Ambassador in Caledon, Ontario. Where 400 of their nearest and dearest came from all over the globe to fete the couple.

During the Baraat – which is when the groom’s side makes their way to the bride’s side to the beat of a drum, dancing and singing prior to the ceremony – Hafiz was having a grande time as were we behind the lens capturing all the awesome. Often times the groom would travel by elephant – Hafiz opted to dance his way over which was a ton of fun.

The Mandap was jaw droppingly stunning – with incredible colours and florals – truly top notch. The reception was beyond luxe. It was luxe to the power of wow squared. All beautifully conceptualized and brought to life by the one and only Sara Baig Designs. She transformed the various spaces so gorgetastically – we were in awe. Complete with a custom designed dance floor.  The cake was like non other we had ever seen in real life.  I swear I think we shot this wedding with our jaw practically on the ground the whole time.

Turning back to the rad couple for a moment – Payal & Hafiz – they have been together since Hafiz had an N’Sync inspired haircut. We saw the photo. It was epic. These two are gems. And they looked unbelievably gem-like in their wedding garb. In fact they had an outfit change just before the reception and I can honestly say they looked ready to hit the red carpet at the Oscars. I think I kept telling that to Payal as we were taking some fun couples portraits of them. Every detail was considered and taken to sophisticated elegant heights.

Sonia of Chic Events by Sonia truly orchestrated an incredible wedding. With so many moving parts and guests and elements – it was flawless and true perfection. Not an easy feat and she did it beautifully.

There were so many traditions and rites of passage to capture throughout the day – it was such a treat to be a part of it all. A mega huge thank you goes out to Payal & Hafiz for thinking of us to be the photographers of their marvellous day. We had shot their friends’ wedding Marieke & Mark and they loved the images but knew that it would be our first Indian wedding. Thank you for trusting in A Brit & A Blonde – it meant the world to us. We love that you trusted in our style and aesthetic.  That capturing moments, true real authentic moments, was why you came to us.We cannot wait to capture more Indian weddings in the seasons to come!

Kimberley Gray: So gorgeous! Love the effortless flow to this collection.
